In the Beginning, God

Scripture:

Genesis 1:1 (KJV)

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

Reflection:

Before there was light, time, or breath—there was God.
No accidents. No chaos. Just divine intentionality.
With this first verse, we’re invited into a sacred story not of randomness, but of radiant purpose.

God didn’t inherit the universe—He authored it.
The heavens? His canvas.
The earth? His dwelling place.
Creation wasn’t born out of necessity but love.
Every star flung, every mountain formed, every heartbeat begun—was by His word.

This verse isn't just ancient—it’s foundational.
When we feel uncertain, we can return here:
If God began it all, then He can renew what feels broken.
If He formed galaxies, He can form grace in us.
Creation begins with Him—and so does
new creation in our hearts.

Prayer:

Creator God,
You are Alpha—my beginning, my foundation.
Remind me that You hold all things together—including me.
Let awe awaken in me every time I see Your handiwork.
Teach me to rest in Your design,
And to walk into each day knowing You started it with love, today, tomorrow and forevermore. Amen.
