Prayer for Revival

So much is transpiring in the world around us, some good and some not so good. We see strife, the erosion of personal freedoms, lawlessness, globalism, violence, corruption at the very highest level of government, threat of war and many other problems.

Many persons within Christian circles are proclaiming that we are witnessing the fulfilment of prophecies found within the Holy Scriptures, and in the broadest sense I do believe that this is true.

Some believers are predicting a time of unprecedent events which are going to take place which will alter the course of the world and will lead up to the visible personal bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Yes, Jesus will Return at the culmination of human history, whenever that will be) Even non-Christians seem to sense that we are entering a unique period of history.

Even some, within “new age” circles (of which I am not an expert ) are describing that which is taking place as the “Ascension”, that is, the raising of humanities “collective conciseness” or “vibration” to what some are describing as the “fifth dimension” and what is transpiring in the world are the birth pains of that “Ascension”; to this higher dimension of conciseness.

My Opinion

It is my opinion and assertion (and some persons may think me just to be unrealistic or foolish) that everything which is taking place within our nation and the world is rather leading to something which has not been seen upon the Earth for centuries. In my opinion and I could be wrong, but I believe that we are about to enter a time not of destruction, but rather of great revival and a mass truing to Jesus.

Now, it is true that at some point, we will witness what St. Paul wrote that there will be a “great falling away” 2Thess:2:2-9 , however, I do believe that prior to that "falling away" we will see revival, maybe as a last great witness.

It is my assertion that God is going to send a time great revival within the collective body of Christ, that is the Church. That this time of coming revival will look nothing like anything which any who now live has ever seen before, and that all that we are seeing taking place around us is an attempt by the unseen powers who currently rule this world to prevent this great revival from occurring, but they will fail, it is like someone attempting to hold back the ocean with a broom.

In my opinion, that during this coming revival many people will come to see all that the Holy God; the Father, Son and Holy Spirit has done for humanity and all that he has made us to be and that he has, and is revealing himself to us in the person of Jesus Christ.

Great Revival

This revelation of God will go far beyond just an “theological academic knowledge” nor will it be just an “hyper-emotional experience” but it will be intensely personal.

It is my view that many will come to see that Jesus has joined himself to us through the incarnation in a much more profound way, that it is greater than anything which they have ever imagined, and will see the scope of the salvation work of Jesus that it is greater than what any have imagined or had envisioned.

I believe that Churches which may be now struggling will grow almost over overnight and that many will thrive once again reinvigorated by the Holy Spirit. That new Churches will grow in unusual places.

I see a time of great empowered evangelism and missionary work being undertaken across the Earth. I believe that during this revival the Gospel will be preached with power and will reach across the face of the Earth and will transform lives, many will be set free from sin, fear and death. They will come to see themselves as loved, wanted and included in God’s divine love through Jesus.

That many will come to believe in Jesus and will be transformed through the work of the Holy Sprit allowing them to be who they were always meant to be in Christ.

I believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit will manifest in a way that has not been seen since the Apostolic Period of the Church. It is my view that we will see the healing of lives in a way so great that there can be no other answer than the working of God. I believe that authentic miracles will take place, not the staged side-show type which so often are seen; but by the working of the Holy Spirit authentic miracles.

That is what I see as I look out on the uncertain days which we are now living. I am praying for that time of great revival and I ask each who read this do the same.
