When asked, “Why do you keep
Christmas?” many might answer:
- It is about goodwill.
- It is about doing good.
- It’s about family.
- It’s about the kids.
- It’s about giving to others.
- It’s about making others happy.
These are all good things—but they
are not good enough.
If Jesus Christ is not the reason
we celebrate Christmas, then Christmas becomes nothing more than a misnamed
social custom or cultural tradition.
Jesus, and Jesus alone, is the only
true reason to celebrate Christmas.
In His birth, the incarnate Son of
God has come—bringing salvation and revealing God’s perfect,
divine love for all.
Christmas exists because Christ has
come.
Benediction
May our hearts and lives center on the
true purpose of Christmas—today, tomorrow, and forevermore. Amen.
