Scripture:
Deuteronomy
6:4 (NIV)
“Hear, O
Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.”
Reflection:
This is not just
a statement—it’s a summons.
God speaks to a people, not just a person, calling them to remember who He is.
He is not many gods, divided in nature—He is one, unified in power, love, and
purpose.
The declaration
begins with “hear,” because faith starts with listening.
It’s a call to attention, to alignment, to surrender.
In a world of
distractions, we are reminded that there is one true source, one eternal
authority, one holy love.
And this oneness
isn’t distant—it calls us to respond with our own: one heart, one soul, one
devotion.
To know that God
is one is to live undivided—fully His.
Not part-time worshipers, not half-hearted servants—but wholly surrendered.
Prayer:
Lord, One and
Eternal,
I hear Your call and turn my heart toward You.
Let my soul be undivided in its love, and my life be aligned with Your truth.
Teach me to listen when the noise of the world is loud,
And to remember that You are enough—complete, consistent, compassionate.
May my worship be single-minded, and my trust anchored in Your oneness.
You are God—there is none beside You, today, tomorrow and forevermore. Amen.
