— The Spirit Who Is Lord
Epiphanius wrote a creed in Ancoratus
that strongly affirmed the deity of the Holy Spirit — “the Lord and Giver of
Life.” This was crucial in a time when some denied the Spirit’s divinity.
This creed reminds us that the Spirit
is not an influence or force but God Himself — the One who sanctifies,
comforts, empowers, and indwells.
To confess the Spirit as Lord is to
welcome His work in every part of our lives.
Prayer
Holy Spirit, Lord and Giver of Life,
fill us anew. Shape us, empower us, and make us holy, today, tomorrow and forevermore . Amen.
