Life Offered in Love
The earliest Christian martyrdom
account outside Scripture tells of Polycarp’s final witness. As he faced the
flames, he prayed: “For eighty-six years I have served Him, and He has done me
no wrong.”
His courage did not come from
willpower but from a lifetime of walking with Christ. He trusted the goodness
of the One who had carried him through every season of life.
Polycarp’s witness reminds us that
true courage is born from long obedience. A heart surrendered to Christ becomes
a heart unshaken by fear. A life rooted in Christ becomes a life that shines
even in suffering.
Prayer
Lord, give us the courage that grows
from walking with You. Make our lives a faithful witness to Your grace and
goodness, today, tomorrow and forevermore . Amen.
