Holding
Fast to the Faith
Polycarp, another disciple of the
apostle John, wrote to the Philippians urging them to “stand fast in the
faith.” His words are steady, pastoral, and deeply rooted in Scripture.
He knew storms would come. He knew
temptations would press in. He knew the world would pull at the heart. But he
also knew that Christ holds His people fast.
To stand firm is not to stand alone.
It is to lean on the One who never lets go. Polycarp reminds us that the
Christian life is sustained not by emotion but by faithfulness—daily, steady
trust in the One who is faithful to us.
Prayer
Faithful Lord, anchor our hearts in
Your truth. Help us stand firm in every season and cling to Your promises with
confidence., today, tomorrow and forevermore. Amen.
