Rooted
in the Story of Salvation
Cyril of Jerusalem prepared new
believers for baptism with a creed that rehearsed the whole story of salvation
— from the Father’s love, to the Son’s incarnation and resurrection, to the
Spirit’s sanctifying work.
This creed teaches us that faith is
not a moment but a story — God’s story. We are not saved by ideas, but by the
God who acts in history. We are not held by feelings, but by the God who keeps
His promises.
The Creed of Jerusalem invites us to
root our lives in the great narrative of redemption, where Christ is the center
and the Spirit is the guide.
Prayer
Lord, anchor our hearts in the story
of Your salvation. Let our lives be shaped by Your truth and filled with Your
Spirit, today, tomorrow and forevermore. Amen.
