Epistle of 1 Clement AD 95
The earliest Christian writing outside
the New Testament, 1 Clement, was sent from the church in Rome to the
troubled church in Corinth. Clement calls believers back to the way of Christ
through humility, unity, and peace.
He urges them, “Let us fix our eyes
on the blood of Christ and understand how precious it is to His Father.”
When we look to Christ, pride loses its grip. When we remember His cross, unity
becomes possible. When we trust His leadership, peace returns.
Clement reminds us that the health of
a congregation is not measured by its size or strength, but by its willingness
to imitate the humility of Jesus. A church that gazes at Christ becomes a
church shaped by Christ.
Prayer
Lord, make us a humble people. Heal
division, soften pride, and let Your peace rule in our hearts and in Your
church, today ,tomorrow and forevermore. Amen.
