The Definition of Chalcedon AD 451

 Chalcedon AD 451

Devotional — The One Christ, Truly God and Truly Man

The Definition of Chalcedon is not a liturgical creed but a doctrinal confession. It proclaims Jesus Christ as one Person in two natures — fully God and fully man, without confusion or division.

This confession protects the heart of the gospel: Only the God‑Man can save. Only the One who is fully divine can redeem. Only the One who is fully human can represent us.

Chalcedon invites us to worship Christ with wonder — the eternal Word who became flesh for our salvation.

Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ, true God and true Man, deepen our awe at the mystery of Your Incarnation, today, tomorrow and forevermore. Amen.
